Low and slow, straight off the pit. Cold drinks to wash it all down. Wide open rivers ready for the whole crew. That’s just a taste of what we brought with us during Feast & Float this summer. Grab your inner tube, because we’re takin’ a look back.
Stop 1: Rainbow River – Dunnellon, FL
Right after Memorial Day, we kicked things off in our home state of Florida. On June 6, we joined floaters along the Rainbow River at KP Hole Park in Dunnellon. As our very first stop, we were floored by the turnout. The KP Hole team told us it was one of the biggest crowds they’d seen in a while and even invited us back anytime. We dished out our Slider Trio and Seasonal Sips, along with plenty of swag and prizes to go around. Some of y’all even got to float away with some sweet swag.
Stop 2: Blackwater River – Milton, FL
Mother nature wasn’t a big fan of the BBQ, so we had to delay our fun for a bit, picking back up on August 8 in Milton, Florida. We set up right on the beach and it turned into our biggest stop yet. The swag table didn’t stand a chance either; we ran completely out by the end of the day, with our inflatable Sonny’s floats being the first to go. Cat Country 98.7 even joined us for a radio remote throughout the event, keeping the energy high all day long.
Stop 3: Chattahoochee River – Atlanta, GA
From Florida to Georgia, we packed up the car just one week later and took the Chattahoochee River by storm. At Abbotts Bridge Rec Area, we served up sliders and sweet sips with plenty of fun and games mixed in for good measure.
Stop 4: Elkhorn Creek – Frankfort, KY
As school got back in session, we traveled even farther north and wrapped things up at Stillwaters Campground in Frankfort, Kentucky, on August 29. We served BBQ right along Elkhorn Creek, and thanks to the Kentucky team, the smoker even made an appearance for that true low and slow touch. A bunch of folks told us it was their first time trying Sonny’s, and they’re already planning their first restaurant visit.
That’s a Wrap on Feast & Float
While we didn’t hit every stop on the days we originally planned, we still got to do what we do best: spreading the spirit of BBQ, one river at a time. From Florida to Georgia to Kentucky, we fed hundreds of guests, handed out more swag than we can count, and made a whole lot of new BBQ fans along the way.
A huge thank you to our incredible partners who helped bring these events to life, including every Sonny’s crew member who showed up and served up smiles all summer long.
