First, it starts with joinin’ the Sonny’s family. Then, it’s time to enroll in the Pit Academy. This multi-day course teaches you everything about Sonny’s, barbecue and even gets you competing with your fellow Pitmasters-in-training. The Pit Academy wraps up with a written test. Once you pass, you’re officially a Pitmaster!

How much is catering for a wedding?
Sonny’s caters everything from backyard to black-tie and can tailor a menu for almost any budget. Contact your local Sonny’s to discuss our Signature BBQ, specialty options, hors d’oeuvres, and bar services.
How much BBQ should I order per person?
The amount of BBQ per person will vary. Generally, a pound of our sliced or pulled meats with feed 3-4 people. A pound of St. Louis Ribs will feed roughly 2 people. A whole chicken will feed 2-4 people. For BBQ by the pound, or small sides feed 3-4 people, medium sides feed 6-8, and large feed 16-20.
How many people does a rack of ribs feed?
We sell our St. Louis Ribs by the pound and estimate that a pound feeds about 2 people. Our Baby back Ribs are sold by the rack and will feed 1-2 people depending on appetite.
How many pounds of ribs should I order per person?
Generally, a pound of Ribs will feed 2 people.
How much pulled pork should I order per person?
