Sonny's in Daytona Closes; but Chain is Poised for Growth
MAITLAND, FL - October 7, 2008, Volusia Bar-B-Q, Inc., Ormond Bar-B-Q, Inc., and Port Orange Bar-B-Q, Inc. licensed franchisees of Sonny's Real Pit Bar-B-Q (Sonny's), announces the closing of three Sonny's locations in the greater Volusia area. The restaurants in Daytona Beach (1500 International Speedway), Port Orange (1515 Dunlawton Avenue), and Ormond Beach (782 S. Yonge Street) will close by October 15th.

The restaurants in Daytona Beach (1500 International Speedway), Port Orange (1515 Dunlawton Avenue), and Ormond Beach (782 S. Yonge Street) will close by October 15th.
It is always a difficult decision to close a location; however, it is sometimes necessary. "Although the three franchise locations in Volusia County are closing, the overall state of Sonny's Bar-B-Q is forty years strong and still smokin, and we are poised for growth chain-wide," said Bob Yarmuth, Chief Executive Officer of Sonny's Franchise Company.
Over the past thirty years Sonny's has actively supported the Daytona, Ormond Beach, and Port Orange Communities. Sonny's has sponsored charitable initiatives, community events, and has employed citizens across the Volusia market. Looking to the future, Sonny's Bar-B-Q has other nearby locations to satisfy the Sonny's craving.
